I was just wondering if anyone viewing this post knows whats up with copyrights. Is anything we put on this site protected somehow? Does anyone know the specifics of copyright law?

Your artwork is legally protected by copyright law. There is no way to prevent someone from copying images found on any website, however the copyright message watermark is definitely a deterrant. If you have any other questions specific to this site let me know.

What about Fan art? I thought part of the submission agreement was that no one could post material that did not belong to them or that they had rights to do so.

Not that I don't like fan art... but I felt this site was for original work. To my chagrin I reported a piece that was fan art, thinking it inappropriate to be here, yet after looking at other galleries, I've noticed that there is a lot of fan art, and I reported one of the best of them... my apologies.

I kind of rather most of it be original art as well. Just my personal feeling on it. Although... if you were working out a Batman script or something with your own style and story... I don't have so much issue with that.

Not that I have any say.
